The check at approval
Agent SoW section 6.1 lets a contract demand that a person approve, and it is explicit about the limit. The approval ceremony proves that a verified human was present. It does not prove that the human was entitled to bind anyone. For an individual owner those are the same person. For a corporation they are often different people.
The platform runs five checks
Under a mandate, the platform extends the same held-pending approval with five checks.
- The person's account holds a mandate for the organization.
- The mandate is in force, and its chain verifies up to root authority.
- The act is within the mandate's powers.
- The price is within its ceilings.
- The offerings are within its scope.
If any check fails, the act is refused and the failing check is named.
The approval record names the mandate
The approval record then carries the mandate id. The counterparty sees that a person confirmed, and also that the person who confirmed held current, sufficient authority that can be traced to the organization's root authority.
Section 7 of the specification holds the check, and the example follows one approval, one refusal and one revocation.
